MY PICKS - WEEK 11

Here's my picks for the games on the week 11 slate. To make your picks, click here.

GAME 1: Penn State 13, Indiana 10

The Hoosiers blew their chances at a bowl with a late collapse in Champaign, so expect IU to tank it against the league's last winless team ... a PSU squad that definitely isn't mailing it in. The D gets a TD off LoVecchio and that's the difference.

GAME 2: Iowa 27, Minnesota 24

Always a tough call when a pig's involved ... the Gophers are free falling to end the season while Iowa is managing to stay in the Rose Bowl race despite running out of running backs in mid September. The Dome advantage swings Iowa's way with their fans filling up half the seats, and Iowa has the better D and better coach. The Hawks might look ahead to the Badger game next week ... but they want that pig!:)

GAME 3: Wisconsin 35, Michigan State 7

Just over a week ago, I thought this would be Bucky's biggest test ... but then Stanton went down and MSU collapsed twice vs. Michigan and OSU. Add to that, the Badgers looked perfect in that first quarter vs. Minnesota. Stocco has matured into a throwing threat and the running game is clicking with a healthy Davis. The Badgers are focused and won't blow it, ending MSU's bowl hopes.

GAME 4: Ohio State 15, Purdue 14

A month ago, this one looked like a sure Boiler rout as the Bucks were mired in a 3-game skid and Purdue was #5 in the nation. Now the Bucks have rebounded and Purdue's reeling. A battle for the Alamo Bowl perhaps? Might even be Tampa if the Bucks win here and knock off their rivals from Ann Arbor next week.

GAME 5: Florida State 23, NC State 20

Tough call here as FSU still has big problems on offense (9-7 in the second against Dook?!?!) ... and NC State isn't afraid of the Noles like some other ACC teams. But the Pack have owned the Noles lately, and that has FSU's attention, so they'll be ready for this Thursday night game to try and get a piece of that ugly ACC title race.

GAME 6: Miami 28, Virginia 24

Another tough call in the ACC ... after seeing the Cavs get crushed in Tallahassee earlier, it's tough to think of them as the favorite. But the Canes have been pathetic the last few weeks. Still, they can't drop three straight ... can they?

GAME 7: Oklahoma 77, Nebraska 0

Just what OU's reeling defense needs - the Huskers! Remember when this game used to mean something? Even better ... we might get a repeat of it in the Big XII "title" game.

GAME 8: LSU 21, Alabama 6

The Tigers can't get back to the SEC title game, but they are playing solid -- especially on D -- and could win out to go somewhere nice on January 1. Bama's back in the bowl scene as well and the Tide has some good athetes, but not enough to win in Death Valley.

GAME 9: Auburn 20, Georgia 13

The game of the day has huge BCS implications. A solid win really gives Auburn a case for being #2 ahead of the slumping Sooners. A UGa win still wouldn't put them in the title game for a BCS bid, but it would make them the highest-ranked SEC team and a good at-large BCS candidate. A heck of a matchup, but the Tigers have a solid all-around team and are at home. Plus, a certain someone had the Tigers as their MNC sleeper at the start of the year.:)

GAME 10: West Virginia 27, Boston College 10

Woohoo! It's the Big Least title game in Morgantown. Neither of these teams deserves a bid and neither could beat next year's conference addition Louisville, but such is the system. Mountaineers win big at home.

And off the board ...

Michigan 28, NORTHWESTERN 21

I'd like to think this is 1995 all over again with NUMB in the Big House and all, but Michigan's getting better each week and coming off a bye week. We have a solid ground game and should be able to move the ball ... but they have the best group of receivers in the land and that's bad news for our secondary. With these two, OT is definitely a possibility -- however, neither coach wants this one to come down to their kicker.
